Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials!!
We’re so glad that you’re here and we hope to provide you with as much information as needed. We’ve spent over 20 years making garments for folks with a historic flair, so they can have the wedding of their dreams! We are honored to help create memories that will last a lifetime! One of the great things about having a historically inspired wedding is your garments can be worn again and again to Festivals, Fairies, and other events.
We will be more than happy to help make your wedding day special!
Specialty Garments (your design or inspiration): Please note, we can only accept a few Specialty Wedding Orders per year, due to our show schedule and subsequent time constraints. This requires advanced booking and planning. If you are considering us, please let us know as early as possible so we can set aside the necessary time for your order. That way we can give your garments as much care and attention as possible.
Stock Garments: We will happily make any of our stock garments, to your specifications for your wedding. This option does not need any special booking, but please be aware standard items can take 4 to 12 weeks depending on our show schedule. If you are choosing a non-standard color, more time may be required as well to allow the fabric to be shipped to us. Please contact us for timelines.
Specialty Garments (your design or inspiration)
If you can provide us with a picture or drawing, we can provide you with a price estimate quote. Pricing may vary due to fabric costs and other requirements. We can work within almost any budget, but remember the old adage - "you get what you pay for.” No work will be started until a final price is agreed upon by both parties.
If we design the garment(s) for you (ie provide a sketch of the sum parts you want) there is a $25 an hour design fee. If the garments are specially made, "one of a kind" items and not one of our stock pieces, then the pricing may go up accordingly, due to the extra time, fabric shopping, planning, and special care required. Specialty Wedding Garments will require an initial non-refundable deposit. We promise to do everything in our power to make sure you are happy with the final product.
Measurements
We create all our own patterns based on measurements that you will need to provide. We request measurements for all Specialty Garments and ‘non-standard’ sized humans. (There is typically no extra charge for folks who need a little extra tailoring on our standard items. We happily provide that service for free, as we understand not every body is built to those random ‘standardized’ sizings.) We can provide you with a Printable Measurements Page by email, which shows what measurements are needed and where to take them. Never take your measurements yourself! For greater accuracy have someone else take your measurements with a flexible measuring tape. If the garment does not fit because the measurements are incorrect, there will be a charge for alterations. We are also available via FaceTime, Zoom, or Skype to assist with the measurements taking. Or you can also visit us at any Faire where we are vendors (see our Show Schedule Page,) or at our seasonal showroom in Peabody MA by appointment.
Embroidered and Hand-Screened Garments
Embroidery can be applied to just about any material and in any color. We have many more embroidery designs than what is shown on our website, and we are happy to try to find designs that will work with your wedding theme. We can also create embroidery based on your original art or family heraldry. Contact us for more details.
Color and fabric selection are more limited for hand-screened garments. The fabric has to be a high contrast color compared to the ink, such as burgundy ink on off-white fabric. The fabric has to be either cotton or silk.
Matching a Color Theme
If you are concerned about matching a color theme for the wedding you can choose your own fabric and mail it to us, or you could send us color samples and allow us to match them. If purchasing your own fabric is not an option, we can search for colors and mail you samples, for an additional fee. We only keep the basic cotton fabrics for our product line in stock.
Policies
For Custom Garments, we will ask you to read, sign, and return our Policy Pages. We will provide them via email prior to starting your orders when we send you the pricing quote. We can email them to you ahead of time for your perusal if requested.
Handouts
We have several PDFs to help you figure out what you may need or want for your wedding day, checklists for pre-wedding planning, and determining your garment styles/looks. If you would like help in these areas, please let us know and we can email them to you.
